An exception…
Let me add this exception:
If your life is just yours, then live it how you will.
Yes? Yes.
But.
If you choose to pull someone so deep into your life that their existence becomes dependent on yours, you accept the consequences of that choice that you made.
Whether it be the life of a child or the life of a love.
In all the decisions that you make, understand that there is a certain level of responsibility.
Your life is yours. But your life also has the potential to create “life” in someone else….but lets not go to far into that.

Opinions. Interpretations. Perceptions.
They’ve got their opinions, interpretations and perceptions of you.
Opinions influenced by their definition of normal.
Interpretations determined by their individual thought processes.
Perceptions formed from their varying frames of reference.
But I am interested in who you are living your life for.
For these individuals with varying opinions, interpretations and perceptions?
If that is the case, then you will always be wrong.
Your life will always belong to someone else.
I will live the life that I choose, accepting the consequences that come to me, learning the lessons that are presented to me, forming the person that I have been chosen to be.
And I will recognize the beauty in your decision to live the life you choose to live, with the people you choose to love.
Foot to ground
Body submerged
Fingers and toes to rock.
My life. Your life. Their life.
Happiness. Sorrow. Success. Failure. Promise. Disappointment. Brilliance and stupidity.
And let them have their opinions, interpretations and perceptions.
But don’t let those insignificant ideas keep you from you.

Don’t talk to me about your religion.

Tell me what you found on your own.
Tell me where you ran when the world snatched it’s stability from under you.
Tell me where your strength comes from when your circumstances have drained the happiness from your being.
Tell me where your spirit went when you cried tears that created waterfalls, that continued on to rivers that ended in your very own ocean of sorrow.
Tell me all about the beliefs that you created based on your experiences.
No, don’t tell me what other people told you to believe.
Show me what your mind is capable of understanding.
Show me that your beliefs were built by you.
Not for you.
